After an afternoon of some delightful hiking with my old chum and icy's bandmate, GR, i'm finally feeling like getting this trio thing started. Digging deep back into the Herculaneum catalogue for some right off the bat arranging ideas, I'm thinking some of these tunes we never play will find nice homes in a guitar trio.
Someone said (I think Chet Baker) that it takes a great drummer to be better than no drummer, so I'm turning to my favorite and most melodic of drummers, the recently passed Joe Morello.
Since hearing this, I've dedicated my mornings to reviewing the Stone Killer exercise, and methinks it's time to draw from some of those grooves on the amazing record Time Further Out, which I think is pretty unreal.
